A maternity equipment order should cover the delivery room, newborn care and the staff who will use both. Start with the services the hospital can actually provide, then specify instruments, equipment, installation and training as one purchasing plan.
The 2025 experience in Nyunzu illustrates this combination: maternity instruments and an incubator were supplied alongside staff training. It is a planning example, not evidence that any product shown here was used at that hospital.
An instrument set is not a complete maternity service. Ask the clinical team to sign off the item list, quantities and intended procedures. For an incubator, define the control mode, monitoring needs, cleaning access and power arrangements; confirm which probes and accessories are included.
The basic incubator listed below has air-mode control; skin-temperature control is described as an option on its product page. Do not assume the option is included. The delivery set has its own itemized list and should be checked against your department’s approved inventory.
Allocate time for installation, alarm demonstration and operator training before clinical use. Record the person responsible for maintenance and the route for obtaining replacement parts. A signed delivery note confirms receipt; a separate acceptance record should confirm the agreed equipment and training were supplied.
