Main Structure and Functions

The incubator is composed of three main parts: the top part, middle part, and controller.

1. Top Part

Includes the hood, mattress, mattress tilting device, temperature displayer, access ports (front/side), front door, and tube inlet.

• Hood: Four-sided transparent windows for infant monitoring.
• Mattress: Surface for placing the infant.
• Temperature displayer: Device for monitoring temperature.
• Access Port (Front/Side): Allows infant treatment without opening the hood door.
• Right side Access Port: Allows infant treatment without opening the hood door.
• Front Door: Designed to place the infant inside.

2. Middle Part

Includes the main deck, air flow system, filter, humidity reservoir, and other components.

• Main deck: Holds the mattress, control parts, and water reservoir for humidity.
• Air Flow System: For air circulation (refer to Figure 4).
• Filter: Supplies filtered fresh air to the hood. Clean or replace it if dirty, occupied by an infected infant, or as instructed.
• Fill/Drawn Water Device: Supplies the humidity generator with water. Note: Only distilled water should be used.
• Caster: Wheels for easy movement with a brake to fix the incubator in place (refer to Figures 11.1 and 11.2).
• Transfusion Rack: Designed to hold transfusion bottles during infant transfusion.
