Summary of Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing
Product Overview
Calcium alginate wound dressing is made of alginate fibres. Upon contact with wound exudate, it absorbs fluid and forms soft gel to build a moist wound‑healing environment. The gel will not stick to delicate granulation tissues of wound bed. It holds CE, ISO13485 and FDA certifications.
Indications
For wounds with moderate‑to‑heavy exudate: pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, surface trauma wounds, venous/arterial leg ulcers, graft and donor sites, cavity wounds and post‑surgical wounds.
Usage Notes
- Clean wound and surrounding skin with sterile water or saline, then dry peri‑wound skin.
- Select proper dressing size, open sterile pouch.
- A secondary dressing is required for application. May be cut by sterile scissors if necessary.
- Moisten dressing with sterile water or saline before fixation to avoid skin injury.
