Intended Use

For general bacterial culture, subculture, strain rejuvenation and bacterial enrichment.

Composition (g/L)

Peptone: 10.0

Beef extract powder: 3.0

Sodium chloride: 5.0

Agar: 15.0

pH: 7.3 ± 0.1 at 25℃

Test Principle

Peptone and beef extract powder provide carbon and nitrogen sources, vitamins, growth factors and other nutrients. Sodium chloride maintains the osmotic pressure of the medium, and agar serves as the gelling agent.

Preparation Method

Weigh 33.0 g of the product, heat and dissolve it in 1000 mL distilled water, dispense into triangular flasks, autoclave at 121℃ for 15 minutes, then set aside for use.

Appearance

• Dehydrated medium: Light yellow powder
• Prepared medium: Light yellow transparent solid

Precautions

This product is for laboratory use only. Do not use the dehydrated medium if it is expired, caked or discolored.
