Application

Widely applied in the identification of Gram-negative bacteria.

Reaction Principle

Bacteria of different genera and species possess distinct biochemical characteristics. This system incorporates 21 classic biochemical tests. All biochemical reaction results are converted into an octal number. By searching the provided standard database system, users can obtain the relative probability, T value and R value of the tested strain, so as to preliminarily identify the bacterial species.

Components of Biochemical Identification System

The kit includes a 20-well biochemical identification strip plus one oxidase test strip. The test items are listed as follows:

Required Instruments & Reagents

Instruments

1 inoculating loop, 2 sterile 100 μl pipette tips, 1 100 μl micropipette, mixer, alcohol lamp, refrigerator, incubator, marking pen.

Reagents

Sterile liquid paraffin, 0.85% sodium chloride normal saline, 1 set of VP reagents, 1 bottle of Kovacs indole reagent. Products from Hopebiol are recommended.

Other Supplies

1 nutrient agar or tryptic soy agar plate.

Storage & Operation Notes

Store at 2–8°C away from light and use within the shelf life. All experiments shall be performed under sterile conditions to ensure valid test results.
